Carbon Fiber

Why Carbon Fiber Tripods?

Introduced into the photographic industry, these new materials have created a product that is truly far superior to the products previously sold in the industry. It was thought that the only way to provide a strong, sturdy and vibration free tripod leg was to increase tube size and thickness. The resulting product was a massive leg assembly weighing 10 to 30 pounds. This created a problem for the unfortunate owner who had to carry the tripod from shoot to shoot. The problem was solved by using carbon fiber tubing instead of the traditional aluminum alloy tube. Carbon fiber is 1/3 less weight than aluminum, yet has 3 times the stiffness of steel and 15 times the strength. Add to that the fact that a tripod made with carbon fiber absorbs vibration at a higher rate than aluminum and you have the ultimate camera support product.
